It is the first Saturday of the month. The beautiful and privileged youth of Brazil arrive at a sprawling mansion in the hills. Golden trays of cocaine, marijuana, and heroin are offered to the luxuriously dressed guests. Sons and daughters of ambassadors, presidents, and dignitaries have gathered for the night's main event. Bets are placed as a group of fighters from the poorest ghettos of São Paulo prepare to do battle. The bloody show is about to begin in THE PIT.

Curly, a teen living in poverty, aspires to join this elite society that does not accept him. With hopes of hitting it big, Curly scrapes together his entire savings and enters his fighter into the competition. But he is playing a game he does not understand, where the bets are high, the stakes are higher, and any mistake could cost him his life. After his sure-bet fighter unexpectedly loses, leaving him with nothing, Curly makes an unforgiveable wager – one that could destroy his family.

The Pit is an unflinching portrayal of the cruel underbelly of Brazil's most privileged citizens, exposing the horrific brutality that stems from the seduction of greed.
