Dr. Gabriel Leguard (Scott Cohen, Jacob’s Ladder) is a successful psychiatrist with powerful clientele. Despite the privileged lifestyle he has earned, however, he is preparing to take his life when the doorbell rings. Through the glass he sees Michael Pryce (Jason Shaw, Charmed), a young, ambitious banker who pushes his way into the house. As the doctor threatens to call the police, Michael quickly explains the reason for the intrusion: he has a lucrative proposition.

Michael’s father, Jonah (Keir Dullea, 2001: A Space Odyssey), is a patient of Gabriel’s. He also controls a fortune worth several hundred million dollars, a burden which has psychologically assaulted him and left him on the verge of suicide. All the doctor has to do is testify that Jonah is not mentally fit to manage his fortune, and in return, he will be handsomely rewarded.

Faced with a million-dollar decision, Gabriel refuses to destroy the reputation of his longtime patient, but Michael is not to be dissuaded. Over the next hour, the two men bury deep into each other’s lives, searching for the core of truth that each hides inside a multi-layered façade.
